Richard Johnson
Richard Johnson is senior vice president of service operations at Sezmi. Prior to Sezmi, formerly known as Building B, Johnson was the chief operating officer and co-founder of US Digital Television, a broadcaster funded low cost wireless cable operator. At USDTV Johnson developed and deployed the company’s television broadcast network, oversaw all R&D activities and ran day to day operations including network provisioning, customer care, field services and vendor relations.
Earlier in h is career Johnson was chief executive officer of CacheVision, a joint venture between Seagate and Thomson, where he oversaw the development and licensing of storage based technologies for consumer electronic devices.
Prior to CacheVision, Johnson was chief executive officer and president of Skytune, a VC-funded digital TV and datacasting technology company where, in partnership with Sarnoff Corp, he developed the industry’s first line of low-cost DTV receivers for PCs.
As vice president of marketing at 8x8, a leader in VoIP and MPEG compression IC technology, Johnson led the company to become the predominant supplier of video telephony ICs.
Johnson has a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern California. He received a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Southern California.
